Nurturing Relationships
I have lived in New Mexico for the past eight years with my husband and two boys. I am originally from Washington State. I graduated in 2002 with my Master’s in Social Work from Eastern Washington University. In my career as a social worker, I have served many children and families. I am trained in the Circle of Security and Nurturing Parenting, both of which promote secure attachment.
My priority is providing a non-judgmental and safe space for clients to share their experiences. It is important in therapy that you feel safe and understood. It takes time to build a relationship. An important part of therapy is feeling comfortable with your therapist - I recognize that how we see the world is shaped by both our experiences and our culture. I seek to learn and honor both and to work collaboratively with you to build a sense of comfort and trust.
I enjoy working with clients of all ages. One of my passions is working alongside parents. As a parent myself, I have learned to embrace the challenges that each developmental stage brings and find grace for myself in the hard moments. During the difficult times, I remind myself “we are all doing the best that we can.” In our journey together, my hope is to empower you in your own healing. We can learn nurturing behaviors that promote our well-being and that of those we love at any age.
My treatment approach in therapy is specific to each client and based on individual and family needs. In my practice, I incorporate Strength-Based Perspective, Attachment-Based Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychoeducation.
